About

I started chess in my late teens but then went on a 20-year break and returned to the game in 2019.

I founded JP Chess in July 2021 after finding out that there are too few chess clubs in Boston, and for the few that exist, they are too far away from Jamaica Plain.

To me, chess is an art and there is beauty in every game. I love the social aspect of chess and knowing that people are connecting over the board and having fun. It's a game that I seek to play with locals whenever I travel.

My chess.com and lichess.org ids are both JIMZW. My rating is around 1800-1900 but fluctuates depending on the day.
